Patrick Bamford is a free agent after Leeds United terminated his contract, with the Elland Road favourite now looking for his next move.
After seven years as a Leeds United player, Patrick Bamford is now looking for his next move after he and the club parted ways.
Now 32 years old and a free agent, there have been several links so far with Celtic showing an interest in Bamford most recently.
But in the end, Celtic signed Kelechi Iheanacho instead and so Bamford’s links to the club have inevitably died down, whilst moves to the likes of Wrexham and Middlesbrough have also been ruled out.
Bamford continues to be linked with the MLS, though, and it’s looking like a probable destination for the one-time England player.

Patrick Bamford has MLS interest after Leeds United exit
Recent reports revealed how Bamford was considering a move to the MLS after leaving Elland Road. And speaking to Leeds United News, chief transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey has confirmed that the striker does have interest from the States.
Bailey also tells us that Bamford does still have interest from clubs in England and that Bamford isn’t rushing into making a decision on his next move, but that a move overseas is certainly tempting for Bamford.
“He’s just considering things at the moment, taking his time,” Bailey explained. “There’s a bit of interest from there [the MLS]. He’s a clever guy, he’s assessing his options. There is still interest in this country, but I think he fancies his luck abroad.”

What Patrick Bamford previously said about moving to the MLS
Bamford to the MLS is nothing new. In fact, the Leeds favourite has long said that he’d be open to moving to the league one day in his career, he just wasn’t sure when that might be.
Speaking earlier this summer, Bamford rated his chances of moving to the MLS, saying: “It was something that when I was younger I always wanted to do at some point in my career [play in the MLS], to kind of experience it, experience a new country, the living the lifestyle there and also trying myself in a new league.
“I think once you have a family and a wife it’s got to be run by them and to be fair they gave it the green light, and they said ‘look, we’re going to go with whatever’s for you and whatever challenge you want to take’, so it is something that I would be open to yeah, we just don’t know when yet.”
Expected there to be a number of clubs ready to take a punt on Bamford. Despite his struggles last season and despite his previous injury struggles too, he remains a player with great experience, and on his day, there’s no denying his quality in front of goal.
