Newcastle's Jacob Ramsey cannot hide his delight for one player after England batter Serbia

Jacob Ramsey saw two of his Newcastle United teammates shine for England against Serbia on Tuesday night.

Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento were both named in Thomas Tuchel’s starting lineup, as the Three Lions beat Serbia 5-0 in Belgrade.

It was an excellent performance from England. Livramento did well at left-back, while Gordon was described as ‘outstanding’ for his efforts on the left wing.

However, the moment that caught Jacob Ramsey’s eye the most was seeing his former Aston Villa teammate Ezri Konsa score his first ever England goal.

Konsa replaced Newcastle United defender Dan Burn in the England starting lineup against Serbia, deployed at centre-back alongside Marc Guehi.

The Aston Villa player helped ensure England kept a clean sheet, but his biggest impact came at the opposite end of the pitch.

Konsa scored England’s third goal of the night, stabbing the ball home at the back post after it fell into his path from Anthony Gordon’s shot from distance.

After the game, the 27-year-old expressed his delight at scoring his first England goal on Instagram.

He wrote: “What a feelinggg! A night I’ll never forget and something I’ve dreamt about since being a child. First goal for my country & a team win to be proud of.”

The defender received a response from former teammate Ramsey, who posted on his Instagram story: “Congrats bro.”

Jacob Ramsey hopes to achieve England ambition at Newcastle United

Ramsey enjoyed seeing his friend score for England, and will have ambitions of matching that accomplishment in the near future.

Newcastle think Ramsey can play for England in the coming years, having brought him to St James’ Park for £43million.

The 24-year-old has never played for the Three Lions at senior level, and will aim to change that very soon.

Ramsey has spoken about wanting to play for England, citing it as a reason why he chose to join Newcastle United. He has seen the likes of Gordon, Livramento, Lewis Hall and Dan Burn all make their international debuts since moving to Tyneside, and he is eager to join that list.

If he can learn and improve under Eddie Howe, he has every chance of doing exactly that.
