Josiah King impressing for Arsenal and England at youth level

Getting off to a good start as a first year scholar can often be crucial for youngsters as they work towards trying to secure a professional contract.

Josiah King has certainly enjoyed a fine start to the season both at club level and on the international stage.

A right-back who relishes pushing forwards, King has started all three league games for Arsenal U18s so far this season.

In the first of those fixtures, against Norwich City, King was deployed as a winger, which enabled him to make the most of his aforementioned attacking attributes.

The 16-year-old is capable of delivering dangerous crosses with regularity and isn’t afraid to go for goal himself, while he can make precisely-timed interceptions.

King was the only Arsenal youngster included in the England U17 squad during this international break and he again caught the eye as he provided an assist in a 7-5 win against Germany.

During pre-season King gained valuable experience with Arsenal U21s and he could well feature competitively at that level at some stage this season, while involvement in the UEFA Youth League is another possibility.

There is still a lot of developing for King to do with regards to his overall game but the early signs this season have certainly been very encouraging.
