Matty Cash is on course to feature for Aston Villa against Everton this weekend after an injury scare on international duty.
Cash scored twice for Poland during the international window – against the Netherlands and Finland, but he needed to be withdrawn early against the latter.
Poland boss Jan Urban had to substitute Cash in the first half of their 3-1 victory over the Fins.
Unai Emery would have been concerned over Cash who has started all three of Villa’s Premier League fixtures to date and is primed to go up against former teammate Jack Grealish at Everton's new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
But the right-back’s father, Stuart Cash, has provided a positive update on his fitness after his Poland withdrawal.
"Everything is fine with his health,” Cash senior told Polish outlet Sport.PL. “In the match against Finland, he had a minor problem with a muscle strain, which is why he had to come off at half-time.
“The manager didn't want to take any chances. However, as far as I know, it won't affect his next Premier League match. He should be ready to play this weekend.”
