The Detroit Lions’ home opener at Ford Field this Sunday isn’t just another game. It’s personal.
When the Chicago Bears roll into town, all eyes will be on former Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who left Detroit in the offseason to take the head coaching gig in Chicago. For many Lions fans, and even players, that decision still stings.
And wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is making sure Johnson knows exactly what kind of reception to expect.

“We’re Booing Him”
On his podcast, St. Brown didn’t mince words about how Lions Nation should treat their former OC.
“Week 2 is going to be so crazy, I promise you,” St. Brown said. “It’s going to be so electric. “But as soon as Ben walks in there, we’re booing him. I don’t give a f**k. We are all booing him like.”

Why It Matters
This isn’t just about boos. It’s about loyalty, rivalry, and unfinished business. Johnson was seen as a key piece in Detroit’s rise to the top of the NFC North, and his sudden departure to a division rival raised plenty of eyebrows. Now, in his first trip back, the atmosphere promises to be hostile.
With the Lions coming off a frustrating Week 1 loss to the Packers, and the Bears arriving with plenty of storylines of their own, the intensity is dialed up another notch.
The Bottom Line
Sunday at Ford Field is going to be loud, emotional, and maybe even a little bitter. Amon-Ra St. Brown has already set the tone, and if the Lions faithful follow his lead, Ben Johnson better get used to hearing boos echoing through the building from the moment he steps on the field.
