September 10 – West Ham United have unveiled a multi-year extension to their cybersecurity deal with Salus as they look to protect their expanding operations from the increasing threat of malware and cyber attacks.
The alliance has already born fruit for the East London club since it began in 2024: Salus have helped the club achieve a 30% annual reduction in cyber vulnerabilities and a 40% faster remediation turnaround.
Director of IT at West Ham United, Mo Ali, commented: ”Over the past 12 months, we have built a fantastic working relationship with Salus to assess and refine our cyber security protocols. Primarily, we needed to conduct extensive PEN Testing of our networks, and after the successful implementation of their recommendations we will also be working with them on aligning our internal policies, processes, and personnel with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), identifying and strengthening our infrastructure.”
In return, West Ham United’s matchday LED systems at its 62,500-seater London Stadium, which ranks top of Inside World Football’s capacity tracker chart for %capacity, will feature ‘increased visibility’ of Salus branding, as well as upping the ante on the club’s social media.
Nathan Thompson, Executive Director at West Ham United, said: “Salus has become a vital element of our digital ecosystem, and we are delighted to extend our partnership. As a Club, we take pride in our innovative approach to growth, and this partnership will allow us to further our international expansion.”
Greg King, Sales Director at Salus, commented: “After a very successful year of supporting West Ham United’s cyber maturity roadmap through multiple workstreams, it’s very exciting to continue providing consultancy through our technical, assurance, and managed services capabilities. The last 12 months have helped forge a strong relationship of collaboration and trust between our two organisations, and we look forward to building on this foundation and further developing West Ham United’s cyber capabilities.
“Through penetration testing, NIST consultancy, data privacy enhancements, cyber training, and managed security solutions, Salus has positioned West Ham United as an early adopter of leading regulatory standards and best practices.”
West Ham will return home after the international break to face Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon. Off the back of a remarkable 0-3 victory over Nottingham Forest last time out, the Irons will be hoping to hammer another three points into their campaign.
