Patrick Bamford left Leeds United towards the end of the transfer window last month after the club agreed to pay off his contract. The striker has interest from clubs in the Championship and has also attracted interest from abroad for a move on a free transfer.
Bamford spent seven years at Leeds and played a leading role in getting them promoted to the Premier League in 2020 under Marcelo Bielsa after a decade-and-a-half out of the top flight.

However, the striker has struggled with injuries in recent seasons, and the club decided to move his huge wages off their books last month when his contract was terminated with a lump sum payoff.
The former Leeds striker was not too pleased with the way the whole affair was handled over the summer. However, he is looking forward to a new chapter in his career and considering all the options on the table as a free agent.

Patrick Bamford ‘fancies’ a move away from England
A few clubs in the Championship, such as Wrexham, are interested in snapping up a striker who has a proven record in the second tier of English football.
However, Bamford has been attracting shock interest from clubs in the MLS, and the forward is yet to decide on where he wants to play his football.
Journalist Graeme Bailey stressed that Bamford is still very much considering all his options, but he is alive to the possibility of moving to the United States.
While a few clubs in England are still keen to sign the forward, the former Leeds forward is claimed to be angling towards a move to the MLS in the near future.
“He’s just considering things at the moment, taking his time”, Bailey told Leeds United News.
“There’s a bit of interest from there [the MLS]. He’s a clever guy; he’s assessing his options. There is still interest in this country, but I think he fancies his luck abroad.”
Bamford has had a few options this summer
Wrexham remain keen to sign him, but he even had an enquiry from Celtic. However, that transfer collapsed once the Bhoys signed Kelechi Iheanacho on a free transfer.
He is wanted in the Championship, but a move to the MLS could work for the striker at this stage of his career.
Bamford will have to prove his fitness, and could earn more money in the United States than in England, and it would be a fresh experience for him.
His free agent status gives him the latitude to take his time and make the best decision for his career and his family.
