Joao Gomes says Manchester United have a player who’s simply ‘unbelievable’

Manchester United haven’t had much to shout about recently.

Indeed, the Red Devils have started this season rather poorly, they’ve been knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Grimsby Town, and their only win of the season so far came courtesy of a last-gasp penalty winner at home vs Burnley.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom at Old Trafford.

Despite recent struggles, Manchester United still have some fantastic players, Bruno Fernandes is a top player, while Matheus Cunha looks like a great addition already.

Speaking to Wolves’ TikTok page, Joao Gomes has now reserved some special praise for another Manchester United player too.

Joao Gomes hails Casemiro

Gomes was asked to build his dream five-a-side team made up of Brazilian players.

The Wolves ace took a while to consider his options, and in the midfield, he ultimately opted to pick Casemiro.

Not only did Gomes select Casemiro, he also described him as ‘unbelievable’ in the process.

Casemiro has had some criticism as of late, but he remains one of the most decorated players in the game today.

Casemiro’s career achievements analysed

Casemiro may be past his best at this point, but you can’t downplay what an incredible career the midfielder has had.

Indeed, Casemiro has achieved almost all there is to achieve in the game.

Casemiro’s career achievements Seasons

UEFA Champions League (5×) 2013–14, 2015–16, 2016–17, 2017–18, 2021–22

FIFA Club World Cup (3×) 2016, 2017, 2018

UEFA Super Cup (3×) 2016, 2017, 2022

La Liga (3×) 2016–17, 2019–20, 2021–22

Copa del Rey 2013–14

EFL Cup (Carabao Cup) 2022–23

FA Cup 2023–24

Copa América (with Brazil) 2019

Copa Sudamericana 2012

Unfortunately, the last 12 months have been perhaps the most difficult period of Casemiro’s career, and it does appear as though he is winding down.

Casemiro was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia this summer, but, for now, he remains a Manchester United player, and he’s still playing a key role for Ruben Amorim’s side right now as United try to change their fortunes and get out of the doldrums.

If Casemiro can rediscover his best form, United will have a much greater chance of achieving their goals this season.
