Former Liverpool midfielder and ESPN pundit Steve Nichol feels Nottingham Forest are about "to be exposed" defensively now that Ange Postecoglou is in charge.
The Reds sacked Nuno Espirito Santo on Tuesday and replaced him with the former Tottenham manager just hours later.
The news has not gone down well with some Forest fans given Postecoglou's previous experience at Spurs where he managed to lead them to the Europa League trophy.
But Tottenham's form in the Premier League under his leadership was dismal and that led to his sacking at the end of the season.
Their record was not helped by Postecoglou's tactical approach in which his decision to play high defensive lines were constantly exploited.
And while the Australian stayed true to his principles it is in stark contrast to Nuno's approach during which the Reds proved defensively sound.
Nicol told ESPN that could now be about to change.
"This is how Ange does it and he is not going to change that," he said.
“I mean, Marinakis has just been waiting to find somebody and he clearly has not thought about this because everything we talked about – having a good shape and being tight – is because nobody on that Forest side ever got exposed because they were always a unit.
“Now under Ange, every single one of them is going to be exposed.
“Now it is okay; let us see what he can do, and they do not have a Van de Ven at the back who can do 100 metres in nine seconds to clear up all the holes and all the gaps.”
