Arsenal are sweating over the severity of William Saliba's injury with the influential centre-back set to miss their clash with Nottingham Forest this weekend.
Salibia twisted his ankle during Arsenal’s warm-up ahead of the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool a week last Sunday, but had to be replaced by Cristhian Mosquera.
Saliba was not included in the France squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine and Iceland.
L'Equipe said at the weekend that Saliba is potentially facing up to a month on the sidelines with Mikel Arteta set to give an update later this week.
But if those claims carry credence then Saliba is most certainly out of the game against the Reds as Ange Postecoglou faces his first game in charge.
Saliba is not the only player to be missing for Arsenal with Bukayo Saka also set for a spell on the sidelines after damaging his hamstring in the victory over Leeds last month.
While Saka does not need surgery, Arteta said he would miss a few weeks and the winger was not part of the England squad that faced Andorra and Serbia.
There is hope that he could be fit for the visit of Manchester City, but he is also set to be absent for the clash against Forest.
Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are also set to miss the Premier League game with hamstring and knee injuries respectively and are some way off a return.
But Ben White and Christian Norgaard could come back into contention for the game at the Emirates.
