Bill Belichick, Jordon Hudson’s plans to cash in have just been crushed

A company owned by University of North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick and managed by his girlfriend Jordon Hudson has been denied four trademark applications by federal regulators.

According to ESPN’s Michael Rothstein, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office denied TCE Rights Management LLC’s request to trademark four applications filed by the company in April. The office said the terms “Do Your Job (Bill’s Version),” “Ignore the Noise (Bill’s Version),” “The Belestrator (Bill’s Version)” and “No Days Off (Bill’s Version)” were denied because of potential confusion that would be created if the trademarks were granted.

The denials come as a blow to the company, which was looking to use the terms for a variety of merchandise including clothes, books and various forms of media. The company does have a chance to appeal the decision.

TCE Rights Management LLC still has trademark applications pending. In August, the company filed the trademark “gold digger.” According to the USPTO’s website, the terms “All-Belichick Team,” “The Belichick Way” and “Chapel Bill,” which refers to Belichick’s current role as head coach of the University of North Carolina football team, are still considered “live and pending,” meaning the applications for those terms are still open and eligible to be registered.

Hudson, 24, became a media focal point after an April “CBS Sunday Morning” interview with Belichick, 73, during which she interjected herself into the conversation and prevented Belichick from answering questions about how they met and her role in his business dealings. However, it was disclosed that Hudson only helped with personal matters, including his book release media tour.

Meanwhile, Belichick’s team has started the season 1-1 and is preparing to face the Richmond Spiders, an FCS opponent, on Saturday afternoon.
