The Dallas Cowboys pulled off one of the strangest trades in modern NFL history, sending Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. While the team got back a solid defensive tackle and two first-round picks, they are now lacking in the edge rushing department.

To make up for the loss of Parsons, the Cowboys are set to host a former first-round pick that could certainly help to alleviate the hole left by Parsons' exit.
According to multiple reports, the Cowboys are hosting former first-round pick and All-Pro defensive end Jadaveon Clowney.
Clowney most recently played for the Carolina Panthers in 2024, where he secured 5.5 sacks. Despite being a longtime veteran, he has proven he still has plenty of gas in the tank.

It is a bit strange that no other team has called about Clowney's services, but he would make sense for the Cowboys.
Through 11 seasons, Clowney has picked up 55 sacks and 15 forced fumbles. If he can provide the kind of production he did in Carolina, then the Cowboys could find a gem for the 2025 season.
This is assuming the Clowney and the Cowboys come to an agreement. It would make sense for him not to leave the building without a deal, considering the team could use a solid pass rusher.
Only Marshawn Kneeland was able to get through to deliver a sack on Jalen Hurts in the Cowboys' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday. Despite the lack of pass rush, the Cowboys did keep pace, only losing 24-20.
Dallas still appears to be a very formidable team, but they need a strong pass rusher to assist Kneeland and Sam Williams in attempting to get to the quarterback to throw offenses off.
Hopefully, should Clowney strike a deal, he can become the pressure the defense needs to consistently throw off opponents.
