The Broncos new stadium site of Burnham Yard isn’t much to look at right now. You have to close your eyes to see the possibilities of the old railyard, which has trash and graffiti and plenty of signs of blight and decay.
But the team and the Walton-Penner group plan to transform it with their privately-funded development, if they can make it happen.
Tuesday morning, the Broncos announced this spot as their preferred place for development of a retractable-roofed tadium and complex with a targeted opening of 2031, just after the team’s lease at Empower Field at Mile High expires.
I went to Burnham Yard to check out what the potential Broncos new stadium site looks like today.
