The Denver Broncos will likely have a new stadium by the 2031 NFL season.
That news spread quickly throughout the Rocky Mountain region on Tuesday, as the Broncos announced Burnham Yard as the preferred site to build on.
Team owners Greg Penner and Carrie Walton-Penner explained why they selected this location, keeping the team in Denver. The project will be privately funded and the stadium will have a retractable roof. Clearly, the goal of hosting Super Bowls, Final Fours and premium concerts and events year-round was top of mind in the decision.
And with the announcement setting social media ablaze, Broncos president Damani Leech and a few current players chimed in with their thoughts.
Of course, everyone is fired up, with Leech also noting there’s still plenty of work to be done.
Greg & Carrie have been the driving force behind this unprecedented investment in our community and #BroncosCountry Along with the @CityofDenver and @StateofColorado we have a lot of hard work ahead of to make this dream become a reality in 2031!
Go Broncos! https://t.co/k2Vd1ivATU

Though it’s unclear which current Broncos will even be on the team in 2031, it’s nice to see the likes of Nik Bonitto, Zach Allen, Alex Singleton, Wil Lutz and others all pumped up about this monumental day.
It’s only the first step, but it’s a massive one. After years of wondering if Lone Tree, Aurora or other potential stadium sites might emerge, the Broncos are staying in Denver.
