Man United's chances of winning the Premier League have already increased five-fold

Manchester United have quietly crept up the list of favourites to win the Premier League in 2025/26.

The Red Devils sit ninth in the Premier League table after the opening three games, with Ruben Amorim’s side winning one, drawing one and losing one.

But the underlying stats prove that United have been one of the best-performing sides in the division and have only suffered from poor finishing in the final third.

Before the season started, Amorim was given a 0.6% chance of winning the league, but that number has already increased after an eye-catching start to the campaign.

Man United now eighth favourites to win the Premier League title

Amorim’s ultimate aim is to win the Premier League at United, but he accepts that is a long-term project at Old Trafford.

This season, Amorim is expected to finish top six, the league title will not be on his mind at all.

But a recent study from CIES Football Observatory increased United’s chances of winning the league up to 2.6%.

Ruben Amorim is making objective progress at Man United

Amorim struggled against English teams last season, but he has already proven this season that he has adapted and is able to have his United side dominate Premier League matches.

With City and Chelsea up next, there is an opportunity for Amorim and United to prove they can beat two title contenders.

The title is still well above United’s expectations for now, but Ineos have created Project 150 for a reason and Amorim is on track.
