New England Patriots fans were disappointed by TreVeyon Henderson‘s NFL debut, and rightfully so.
However, despite the loss, it’s been a pretty good week for the second-round pick from the 2025 NFL Draft.
The running back took to social media to announce his engagement:
“Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised,” Henderson posted on Instagram.

Of course, his fans might be thinking about a different ring, but they need to take things one step at a time.
The Patriots’ offense as a whole didn’t get much going against the Las Vegas Raiders, and the negative game script didn’t do much to help Henderson’s case, either.
He rushed for 27 yards on five carries, an average of 5.4 yards on those limited attempts.
The bulk of that production came with a 14-yard run, so he was really less efficient than that.
The bright side was his involvement in the passing game.
He was third in targets (6) and tied for the most catches (6) on the team, although he had only 24 receiving yards.
New England gained 336 total yards, with just 60 on the ground.
The Patriots were 4-for-14 on third down, constantly facing third-and-long situations after failing to establish the run.
That’s unusual for coordinator Josh McDaniels, and he will have to go back to the drawing board.
Fortunately for Henderson and the Patriots, they have the Miami Dolphins up next, a team that gave up 33 points to the Indianapolis Colts in the season opener.
That should leave the door open for the rookie to make his mark and leave his debut behind.
