The Etihad Stadium will host the latest instalment of the Manchester derby, as Manchester City welcome Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Man City have only picked up three points from their three matches this season, which has left them down in 13th spot in the Premier League table, while Man United are ninth, boasting four points from three games.
Referee Anthony Taylor on August 30, 2025
Taylor chosen as referee for Manchester derby
The experienced Anthony Taylor has been chosen as the referee for the blockbuster fixture in Manchester.
Taylor has been in charge of 47 Man City games during his career, with the club boasting a record of 25 wins, 10 draws and 12 defeats, while he has also been the man in the middle for four Manchester derbies.
The experienced official was in charge of the clash between Man City and Man United at the Etihad Stadium last December, when the latter came from behind to record a famous late 2-1 win.
The 46-year-old has been in charge of 53 Man United matches, with the Red Devils winning 30 of those games, in addition to posting seven draws and 16 defeats.
Interestingly, he has handed out just 64 yellow cards to Man City players, with four red cards also being issued, while he has booked a Man United player on 107 occasions, also handing out three red cards.
Taylor, who will have Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn as his assistant referees for the Manchester derby this weekend, has awarded Man United 12 penalties and Man City nine.
Referee John Brooks on March 9, 2025
Brooks in charge of VAR for the Manchester derby
John Brooks will be the Video Assistant Referee on Sunday, while Neil Davis has been appointed the Assistant Video Referee, with the pair overseeing proceedings from the VAR Hub at Stockley Park.
In March 2025, Brooks was famously replaced as the Video Assistant Referee for the clash between Liverpool and Everton, in addition to the game between Arsenal and Man City, after a high-profile error.
The change was made after Brooks wrongly disallowed a Brighton & Hove Albion goal in a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace, with the lines being drawn incorrectly for a potential offside call.
