The Baltimore Ravens likely need no added motivation to show up prepared to face their bitter rival in the AFC North, the Cleveland Browns, in their Week 2 game. But if anyone on the Ravens did by any chance, Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy gave them just that while previewing the upcoming matchup on Wednesday.
Baltimore's offense did everything they could to come away with a Week 1 victory over the Bills, putting up 40 points on offense in the game. But ultimately, the Bills offense stormed back and erased a 15-point deficit in the fourth quarter to steal the Week 1 win away from the Ravens.
While there were a number of factors that resulted in Baltimore losing in Week 1, the biggest without question was the Ravens secondary, who was gashed by Josh Allen to the tune of allowing 394 passing yards in the game.
Jerry Jeudy seemingly took note of the struggles of the Ravens secondary. And when Jeudy was asked on Wednesday what kind of challenges the Ravens secondary presents in Week 2, Jeudy didn't mince words, saying that they brought "no challenges".
At least in Week 1, Jeudy is certainly correct that the Ravens secondary really had no answer for the Bills dynamic passing attack.
But in a matchup against a 40-year-old Joe Flacco and the Browns passing attack, that may very well prove to be a different story.
The Ravens haven't had the kind of success against the Browns recently that you would likely expect given the track record of the two teams over the past few years. Notably, over the last two years, the two teams have split their pair of games each season against one another.
Jerry Jeudy sure seems to believe that the Browns passing game will be the reason that they may surprise people and come away with a Week 1 victory.
But you would have to imagine that the Ravens defense is dead set on giving a far better account for itself in Week 2 than they did in Week 1 against the reigning MVP of the league.
So it will sure be interesting to see whether Jeudy can back up his pregame trash talk, or the Ravens can right the ship moving forward.
