Jaylen Brown Doesn’t Rule Out Playing For Hometown Hawks

Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown recently stopped by V-103 radio in Atlanta, where the hosts wanted to know if Brown would ever join the Atlanta Hawks in the future.

“You never know,” Brown responded.

Brown is from Marietta, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. He attended Wheeler High School, where he was recognized as one of the top high school basketball players in the country.

While the Hawks may be a consideration for Brown down the line, his heart remains dedicated to the Celtics. Before Game 5 of last season’s NBA Finals, he shared that playing in Boston is a blessing.

“It’s definitely a blessing to be here. To represent the Celtics, my family, organization, the community, a greater community, it’s an honor that I don’t take lightly,” Brown said in June of 2024, via Fastbreak On SI. “Just to come out every night, to play for something, for what I represent, I think that matters. My relationship with Boston has grown; I’ve been here for almost nine years now. Since I was 18, 19 years old, I’ve grown up. I’ve become a man here. Boston is special. I’m looking forward to Game 5.”

Brown is not leaving Boston anytime soon, as he signed a five-year, $285 million contract extension last summer that will keep him with the team until at least the 2029-30 season.
