Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown teased a potential hometown reunion earlier this week. With the Celtics facing an uncertain future, nothing can be out of question at this point.
In an interview with [Big Tigger Morning Show](https://x.com/thedunkcentral/status/1965796403428614316?s=46&t=SF-knYTy_vdKy3mmfTQuvQ), Brown — who hails from Marietta, Georgia — was asked about potentially joining the Atlanta Hawks one day, to which Brown left the possibility open.
“You never know,” Brown said. “I think my grandma would \[like to see Brown play in Atlanta\] too. But, you never know, we’ll see.”
Brown is one of Boston’s most impactful players
-----------------------------------------------
Brown has obviously become one of the Celtics’ most important players since being drafted by the team in 2016. He’s a four-time All-Star, one-time All-NBA, and was named the Eastern Conference Finals MVP, and NBA Finals MVP during the Celtics’ championship run in 2024. He’s averaging 19.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game for his career.
The Hawks have also created a ton of buzz themselves this offseason, swinging a trade for Kristaps Porzingis, and signing Caleb Houston and Luke Kennard to free agency deals. Heading into next season, the Hawks have a solid core of Porzingis, Trae Young, and the first-overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Zaccharie Risacher, who showed plenty of promise in his rookie season.
The Celtics on the other hand enter next season in a strange state. Star player Jayson Tatum will miss most of, if not the entire season due to a torn achilles suffered during the playoffs, putting next season largely in question for the Celtics. The team has entertained calls on Brown in the past, and with an uncertain future laying ahead, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Brown could be in a different uniform soon.
