FOXBORO — Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez, outside linebacker Harold Landry, defensive lineman Keion White and starting right tackle Morgan Moses did not participate at the start of practice Wednesday, the team’s first ahead of this weekend’s game at Miami.
Gonzalez has not practiced in more than six weeks due to a hamstring injury he suffered early in training camp. Moses, Landry and White appear to be dealing with new ailments.
Moses, 34, played 100% of the Patriots’ offensive snaps in last Sunday’s season-opening loss to the Raiders. Over the summer, the coaching staff managed his workload to keep him available for the regular season. If Moses cannot play Sunday, seventh-round rookie Marcus Bryant is primed to replace him.
Bryant, the Patriots’ new swing tackle, played right tackle in college. Vederian Lowe, a career left tackle, is the only other offensive tackle on the roster.
Landry was the Patriots’ best defensive player against Las Vegas, tallying 2.5 sacks and four QB hits. He played 76% of the team’s defensive snaps opposite K’Lavon Chaisson. White came off the bench to replace both players for stretches.
Practice-squad defensive lineman David Olajiga also did not participate Wednesday.
The Patriots will release their first injury report of the week late Wednesday afternoon.
