DK Metcalf won’t touch Seahawks revenge game narrative: ‘Y’all gonna make it a big deal’

PITTSBURGH -- One week after Aaron Rodgers had the revenge game narrative on his side, top Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf could have his own game this weekend. Yet, Metcalf will not play that game in the media.

When asked if it was a big deal at all, Metcalf shrugged it off, leaving pundits to discuss that.

“Y’all will make it a big deal, but I’m not,” Metcalf said.

Last week, Rodgers echoed that it was simply another game, and there was nothing to worry about in terms of the ‘revenge game’ narrative. This week, Metcalf echoed much of those sentiments.

“You know, it’s just another football game,” Metcalf said. “It’s another team, just like any other football game because after this, you’ve got to prepare for the next opponent."

That being said, Metcalf is not overlooking Seahawks cornerbacks Devon Witherspoon and Riq Woolen, who were his teammates and practice adversaries in Seattle. He knows them well, just as they know him.

“Our practice reps going against each other, we have history. Just the way they play the game, I know Coach Macdonald is going to have them ready. Whatever scheme they play, they’ll play it to the best of their ability," Metcalf said.

Metcalf requested a trade out of Seattle this offseason and got his wish, being traded to the Steelers for a second-round draft pick.

He had four receptions for 82 yards in his first game, with 68 of those yards coming after the catch. The Steelers figure to use him heavily in the passing offense, and this week should be no different.
