Manchester City ace Matheus Nunes is not exactly short of game time under Pep Guardiola, but he may not be especially happy under the Spaniard.
Matheus Nunes is an important member of Pep Guardiola’s squad, with his versatility proving very useful to the Manchester City manager.
However, Nunes has previously spoken out about where he would ideally like to play, and it’s simply not happening often enough under Guardiola.
With the new EA Sports FC game coming out in late September, a lot of Premier League clubs and players have been taking part in promotional work for the 2026 edition.
And Nunes was not impressed with his card, which seems to be a direct result of how Guardiola is using him on the pitch.

Matheus Nunes not impressed by ‘RB’ label on his EA Sports FC 26 card
Man City’s media team spoke to Nunes, Jeremy Doku, Rico Lewis and James Trafford as the club revealed the players’ respective ratings in the game.
The players had to guess who each card belonged to based on its stats, and when it came to Nunes’ turn, he correctly guessed himself.
Nunes’ teammates seemed almost shocked at the card having him down as a right-back – a change from last year, which had him down as a midfielder.
At that point, Nunes jokingly said “I’m out of here” and pretended to leave, before adding: “These guys are joking.”
And when asked whether he felt his position should still be in midfield, Nunes said: “I’m not going to mention the position.”

What Matheus Nunes said about his positioning last year that will be worrying for Manchester City
Although Nunes was cheerful throughout, he genuinely seemed annoyed at having been deemed a right-back on the game, especially when asked that final question.
Last season, Nunes revealed how his mother used to mistake him for Pedro Porro – who used to play for City – and would wonder why her son is playing right-back.
As Manchester City News covered earlier this year, Nunes’ tone of voice suggested that his mother asked the question in a negative manner.
Now, Nunes has been featuring so often at right-back that EA Sports FC 26’s developers have locked him in that position in the game.
And really, this could go one of two ways – Nunes could decide to just stick with being at right-back, or he may wonder whether he may need to move in order to play in midfield.
