Cody Simon exited his rookie debut against the Saints after a tackle on a kickoff. The linebacker, who was evaluated for a concussion, was absent at practice on Wednesday. Joey Blount was also placed on injured reserve.
Coach Jonathan Gannon said the Cardinals were nursing some injuries following the season opener. Tight end Tip Reiman did not practice with a foot injury. Offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum was not at practice due to a rest day.
Offensive lineman Will Hernandez (knee) continued to practice in a limited role, as did punter Blake Gillikin (back).
Left tackle Ickem Ekwonu practiced as a limited participant on Wednesday. Panthers coach Dave Canales said the left tackle was "asking for more" as game week progresses.
