PHILADELPHIA —The Eagles could be without a key playmaker this Sunday in their Super Bowl rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
Tight end Dallas Goedert was not seen at Wednesday’s practice.
According to 94WIP’s Eliot Shorr-Parks, Goedert has a knee sprain, leaving his status for Week 2 up in the air.
He has not reached his potential over the last three years, missing 15 games with shoulder, forearm, hamstring and knee injuries.
Goedert led the Eagles with seven catches for 44 yards in their Week 1 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Playing on the final year of his contract, he needs to stay healthy to cash in next offseason with Philadelphia or another NFL team.
Backup running back Will Shipley (ribs) and quarterback Tanner McKee (fractured right thumb) also missed Wednesday’s practice. McKee has been sidelined since the end of training camp.
After leaving the fourth quarter of Thursday night’s game against Dallas with a back injury, Eagles left guard Landon Dickerson was back at practice.
Dickerson was sidelined last month with a knee injury and hurt his back last week. He limped during the entire game against the Cowboys and was beaten a few times. Perhaps extra rest this past weekend could have improved Dickerson’s health, but his status is still worth monitoring.
