KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - One of the more prominent conservative voices in the United States was shot and killed on Wednesday afternoon.
Activist Charlie Kirk died after he was shot in the neck at an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, an outspoken voice for conservative issues himself, shared on social media a brief text message exchange he had with Kirk.
Butker also retweeted a pair of Kirk’s tweets from the last two months:
"Jesus defeated death so you can live," and "It’s all about Jesus."
Butker also posted a message praying for Charlie Kirk’s soul.

As of Wednesday at 4:40 p.m., the suspected shooter had not been arrested.
