Why aren’t West Ham fans ever allowed to demand better from the board?

**West Ham fans ridiculed for anti-board protest.**

In recent years, far too many English clubs have come close to going under, with some even going out of business.

Sheffield Wednesday are, at the minute, by far the worst run club in the football league. The way in which they are being absolutely beat into the ground by a greedy, narcissistic, and selfish owner is absolutely disgusting,

However, according to Martin Samuel, because the Hammers aren’t on the brink of extinction they have to sit there and suck up their own poor ownership.

Let’s not get it twisted, West Ham are the worst run club in the Premier League. They are the only club with 0 ambition from the top, they are the only club who have a stadium unfit for football, they are the only club whose owners consistently spend money to, seemingly, benefit their agent friends.

If the Irons were to get relegated – which is a real possibility – then there’s every reason to believe they could end up in a situation where they are facing expulsion from the football league entirely. They are not in a financial position where they can compete without Premier League money.

Yes our problems aren’t as severe as Wednesday’s, but why does that mean they’re irrelevant? How dare we try and demand the club to be more than just relegation fodder. How dare we try and strive for more. How dare we not just sit back and enjoy a couple of years of success, never to reach those heights again.

There’s this constant underlying rhetoric in football that clubs have a “place” in the hierarchy and, for the most part, they’re expected to stick to that. PSR and FFP were brought in to ensure that happens at the top level, but West Ham should have the financial power to upset that a little – unless we change owners though that will never happen.
