Cam Reddish, who spent the past two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, is reportedly expected to sign with Lithuanian club BC Šiauliai for the upcoming campaign. [Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews](https://basketnews.com/news-231063-cam-reddish-nearing-move-to-europe-after-six-years-in-the-nba.html) reported the potential signing, noting that Reddish’s contract is expected to include an NBA release clause that would allow him to pursue an opportunity to head back to the US, should the chance present itself.
BC Šiauliai didn’t have much NBA-level talent on its roster last season, though Isaiah Todd, who enjoyed a cup of coffee in the league, played for them. Now, Reddish is seemingly going to join them for next year.
The former Laker is heading overseas.
**How did Cam Reddish play for the Lakers?**
--------------------------------------------
Reddish signed on board with the Lakers during the 2024 offseason, though he didn’t end up panning out like LA likely hoped he would. He’s only 26 years old, but the early portion of his career didn’t go as planned.
The Atlanta Hawks drafted Reddish 10th overall back in 2019, and he was one of the most highly-touted prospects coming out of high school before his freshman season at Duke.
Unfortunately, Reddish’s three-point shot never came together, and he wasn’t able to carve out a consistent role at any stop in his NBA career. He went from the Hawks to the New York Knicks to the Portland Trail Blazers before landing with the Lakers.
In his first season in LA, playing under Darvin Ham, Reddish appeared in 48 games, playing 20.5 minutes per contest. He averaged 5.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.0 assists while shooting 38.9% from the field and 33.6% from beyond the arc.
The following year, with JJ Redick as his head coach, Reddish’s playing time decreased. He appeared in 33 games, playing 17.9 minutes. He averaged 3.2 points and 2.0 rebounds while shooting 40.4% from the floor and 27.7% from distance.
Despite his scoring talents in high school and college, Reddish was never able to shoot the ball well at the NBA level. His best three-point shooting came in 2021-22, when he shot 35.9% from deep. He was traded to the Knicks midway through that year.
Reddish gave the Lakers some okay minutes throughout his two years with the club, but it wasn’t nearly enough. LA ended up waiving him at the end of March this past season after attempting to trade him in the Mark Williams deal that was rescinded.
Now, he’s seemingly leaving the NBA altogether to play international ball.
