It’s been months since Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers injured his Achilles during Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
Pacers fans know the road to recovery is long and full of ups and downs, but Haliburton is definitely on the mend and headed in the right direction.
Sitting down with Pat McAfee, Haliburton gave a progress report.
“I’m good, I’m good. I’m on two shoes now, so we’re out of the boot, which is nice. I feel like I do a million calf raises a day, but we’re getting there,” Haliburton said.

Although things are moving along, they are pushing forward slowly.
That’s to be expected, and nearly everyone agrees that Haliburton won’t be playing with his Pacers during the 2025-26 season.
Instead, he will be forced to sit on the sidelines as the team attempts to get back to the Finals.
That was already a tall order, but it’ll be even more difficult without Haliburton and Myles Turner, who left the Pacers for the Milwaukee Bucks.
Indiana would love to have Haliburton back as soon as possible, but they know they cannot rush this.
An injury like this is very serious, and if it’s not handled well, it can lead to long-term and recurring problems.
If Haliburton pushes himself too hard or rushes his return, he could do even more harm and risk permanent damage.
It’ll be tough to see him sit out the season, especially with the sort of output he was delivering last year.
But it’s all for the greater good, and the Pacers are willing to wait.
