Joel Embiid Shows Off Encouraging Progress In Workout Video

Once again, there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Recent reports about the seven-time All-Star haven’t been encouraging, and there are significant worries that he won’t be ready to play for the Sixers when the season kicks off next month.

The team tried to ease fears recently when they shared a video of Embiid working out on the court on social media.

Keith Pompey watched it and said Embiid is looking good, but questions still remain.

“The Sixers released footage of Joel Embiid working at the practice facility. He looks slimmed down and isn’t wearing a knee brace in this video,” Pompey posted on X.

Embiid might look better, but that doesn’t mean he’s at 100 percent, or even close to it.

The lack of a knee brace is great news, too, but that also doesn’t guarantee that Embiid is where he needs to be.

Embiid only appeared in 19 games last season, averaging 23.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists during that time.

His injuries were troubling before the season even started, and they never got fully resolved.

Since then, inside reporting from the team has suggested that his knee problems remain a huge issue, and there are concerns that he won’t be ready to play in 2025-26.

In fact, some people feel he may never be able to play like he used to.

There are legitimate worries that Embiid’s knee will never heal and that his best days are behind him.

This would obviously be devastating news for the two-time scoring champ, as well as his team.

This video looks good, and it’s undoubtedly a promising sign, but doubts about Embiid are still heavy on the minds of all Sixers fans.
