Long before he owned the [Dallas Mavericks](https://www.thecoldwire.com/sports/nba/dallas-mavericks/), Mark Cuban was a fan of NBA basketball.
That means he has an opinion about who the greatest NBA player of all time is.
When asked about his view of the league’s GOAT, Cuban had a very diplomatic answer that celebrated both Michael Jordan and LeBron James.
> “If you have a good team, and you need a killer, you go MJ. If you have a team that’s good and you want them to get better, and as a team go to the Finals, you go LeBron,” Cuban said.

There really haven’t been many players like Jordan, who performed with a level of intensity and drive that hasn’t been duplicated since.
It didn’t matter who he played against or who he was with; he would pour 100 percent of himself into every single game and was playing like a man on a mission.
Jordan is called the greatest of all time by many fans, partly because of the success he found in the Finals.
When it comes to championships, Cuban thinks James has a talent for pushing his team all the way to a title.
Throughout his career, James has carried a heavy load and has found a way to motivate and guide his team to the Finals, even when many people have counted them out.
He hasn’t always won, but he has been the engine that pushed several teams beyond expectations.
Cuban wouldn’t come straight out and choose a GOAT between these two, but other people will.
The conversation about who is greater will continue forever, and there is no shortage of opinions among fans.
