Man City football coach takes up new role at Blackburn school

A Manchester City football Academy coach has taken up a new role at a Blackburn school.

Charlie Jackson, who has also worked with Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers, is the new football coach at Westholme School.   During his career, Charlie has aided the development of Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson and Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay who has recently been nominated for the Ballon d'Or award  

Charlie said: “It’s an absolute pleasure to be part of the Westholme family and to join such a forward-thinking and supportive environment.

"I’m incredibly excited to work with players across all age groups and help shape a football culture rooted in excellence, unity and passion.

"Together, we will build something truly special - where every player feels valued, every effort counts, and we can all be proud of the journey we take as a team.”

Director of Sport at Westholme, Lee Purdy, said: “The appointment of Charlie marks an exciting step in our journey.

"With his expertise and enthusiasm, football at Westholme will thrive at every level - supporting participation, inspiring excellence, and ensuring our students have the very best opportunities to enjoy the game and fulfil their potential.”
