Manchester United are still hoping to offload some players from Ruben Amorim’s squad over the coming weeks

The Premier League transfer window might be closed but it has not stopped Manchester United from securing further transfer exits.

The Red Devils are unable to sign new players but can agree outgoings if transfer windows remain open in the relevant country. The Turkish Super Lig transfer window is open until Friday.

However, a third United player could be on his way to Turkey before their window shuts on Friday.

Sam Mather has suitors in Turkey

United are keen to offload Sam Mather and according to the Manchester Evening News, he has ‘suitors’ in Turkey. It means the Red Devils could sell a third player to a club in Turkey before the week is out.

The 21-year-old has been unable to make a mark and force his way into the senior side at Old Trafford. Teams in Germany and Sweden had shown an interest but moves to clubs in those countries will not be possible until January.

United want a permanent exit for the Salford-born winger but per the report from the MEN would accept a loan with an obligation to buy.

Mather signed a new contract with the Red Devils last summer after being part of their pre-season tour of the United States. Amorim overlooked him for the trip to the United States this summer.

While the player can play on the wing, he is also suited to number 10 and with the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, his path to first-team football is more difficult. He spent part of last season on loan at Tranmere Rovers but made just two substitute appearances.

Andre Onana to complete move to Turkey on Thursday

Onana has been on international duty with Cameroon and will fly to Turkey on Thursday to complete his move to Trabzonspor. He has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Red Devils following the signing of Senne Lammens from Antwerp for £21.7million.

The £47.5m signing from Inter Milan had already lost his place to Altay Bayindir and with Tom Heaton penning a new deal to stay for one more year, United did not need four senior goalkeepers.

There is hope at United that Onana will regain some form in Turkey which will allow the Red Devils to sell him for a decent fee in the summer of 2026. Having spent close to £50m on his services just two years ago, United will be keen to claw back as much as possible.
