Crystal Palace are said to be eyeing a Championship talent who is making headlines for club and country.

Crystal Palace are said to be monitoring a Championship talent who is attracting praise aplenty early in his career. The Eagles had a rather complicated summer transfer window that saw them fail to replace Marc Guehi, leading to the England international staying at the club, unlike Eberechi Eze.

On one hand, Palace fans will be pleased to keep hold of Guehi, but the defender is unlikely to be happy with the situation, and given his contract situation, it could be a move that costs the club tens of millions.

Palace have typically been efficient in the transfer window over recent years, and while they did get some incoming deals done, they will want to get back to a more efficient approach going forward as they get to grips with a recruitment team without long-serving Dougie Freedman.

The Eagles have had plenty of success snapping up EFL talents over the years, including Eze, and according to EFL Analysis, they are now monitoring breakout West Brom star Isaac Price, who has been impressing for club and country. Price has made 16 senior appearances for West Brom since signing from Standard Liege, scoring four times, while he has made 24 outings for Northern Ireland, scoring 10 times midfield. He is still only 21 years of age.

Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neil said in March: “Isaac is a special player, that is his seventh goal in 19 appearances, and he has only really been playing senior football in those two years. He epitomises what you want in the modern-day player, his running power, level of technique, nose for a goal and his versatility, which is a huge bonus for us.

“He has been a brilliant player for us since we have brought him in. I thought we contained Switzerland well. There are a lot of positives. At times we were passive and would have been better on the ball but, overall, when you look at the experience in the team we are asking a huge amount of them We finished with eight players aged 21 and under, I thought they competed extremely well and we are bit disappointed we couldn’t nick a winner.”

West Brom legend Tony 'Bomber' Brown once told BBC Sport of Price: “He's a good technical player. He finds holes, spaces, and he plays just behind the front man. He plays the kind of game that I used to play - waiting for gaps to appear and scoring goals. And he's got that ability to bend the ball, to manipulate the ball. It's been said a few times over the last few weeks that he's going to be a top player, and so far, at the start of the season, it looks that way."

Another former Baggies favourite in Chris Brunt has said: “Isaac Price has been a breath of fresh air since he joined West Brom. Sometimes he can give the ball away, but he brings a massive goal threat from all areas, and he has enthusiasm and a great work rate. Every time Price pulls on a green-and-white shirt, it seems to bring a goalscoring thing out in him.”
