Player’s future at Nottingham Forest ‘changes immediately’ after Nuno exit

After weeks of effort, Nottingham Forest signed Douglas Luiz from Juventus on an initial loan deal with the conditional obligation to buy him permanently.

The Old Lady were desperate to get rid of him, having seen the worst of the player in the 2024/25 season despite having signed him after a promising stint at Aston Villa.

The midfielder didn’t feature even once under ex-Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo and even though Ange Postecoglou has replaced the Portuguese, concerns are starting to grow at Juventus.

Calciomercato.it note that the Bianconeri are observing Douglas Luiz with ‘great interest’ after his exit and their intrigue has increased after Nuno’s exit.

This is because Juve don’t want the 27-year-old back in Turin, as they weren’t impressed with his performances and want money from his sale to reinvest in other players.

There is belief that the Brazilian’s situation at Nottingham Forest ‘changes immediately’ after Nuno’s sacking.

Reports in the UK have suggested that the former manager wasn’t a fan of Douglas Luiz’s signing and that played a role in the breakdown of his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis.

The Bianconeri will hope that Postecoglou’s arrival changes things and Douglas Luiz gets more game time.
