Newcastle United expected to make ‘full blown offensive’ for 20-year-old in January

Roma’s Niccolo Pisilli emerged as an important player last season but his situation is now uncertain, as Newcastle United are considering a move.

The 20-year-old played 28 Serie A games in the 2024/25 season and also scored two goals, having broken into the first-team during the 2023/24 campaign.

He is yet to make his debut in the current season under Gian Piero Gasperini and Radio Radio have some information about his future.

The outlet claim that Newcastle United were contemplating a move for the midfielder in the summer, but never made a formal approach.

They cite information from England, which must be their own because there’s no UK reports, that ‘the Magpies could be back in the hunt for the star of the Azzurri Under-21 squad’.

Adding their own information, Radio Radio claim Roma are expecting Newcastle United to make a ‘full blown offensive’ in January, with an offer of around €23m likely to be enough for the midfielder.

They insist that the Giallorossi never chased off the Tyneside club’s interest in the summer and this has given encouragement to Eddie Howe’s side about a January move.

Roma could be forced to sell Pissili due to Financial Fair Play issues and manager Gasperini hasn’t yet been fully convinced.
