£100,000-per-week West Ham midfielder “keen on a move” away from London Stadium, but Graham…

West Ham’s summer transfer window saw a flurry of exits.

Long-serving stars like Michail Antonio, Aaron Cresswell, and Vladimír Coufal departed, Mohamed Kudus joined Spurs, Nayef Aguerd moved to Marseille, and even Maxwel Cornet went out on loan for the second season running.

One player who also came close to leaving amid the chaos was Guido Rodríguez.

The Argentine midfielder, who helped his country win the World Cup in 2022 and currently earns £100,000 per week at the London Stadium, was linked with a return to Real Betis, with his agent reportedly flying to Spain to push a deal — a move that ultimately never materialised.

But it seems Rodríguez’s transfer saga isn’t over yet.

According to insider reports from ExWHUEmployee, Guido Rodríguez is actively exploring a move in the coming days, despite the European transfer window being closed.

Opportunities are understood to exist in both Saudi Arabia and Mexico, with the latter appearing to be the player’s preferred destination.

Reporting on The West Ham Way Podcast, Ex revealed: “Rodriguez is understood to be keen on a move to Mexico over Saudi. However, the offer he is hoping will be improved to align with what he has on the table from Saudi.”

“I must stress though that there is no desire from Graham Potter for the player to leave, so he will be happy to retain him in the squad this season,” Ex added. “It remains to be seen if the player can get a move away.”

With the Mexican window closing on 12th September and Saudi Arabia’s lasting until the 23rd, there is still a small chance Rodríguez could complete a late transfer.

For now, though, Potter appears determined to keep his midfield options intact.
