Aston Villa player snubbing out of window transfer – Refusing to entertain offers

Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez is refusing to entertain offers to leave the club outside the transfer window, according to TyC Sports.

On deadline day, Manchester United looked at the 33-year-old before they signed Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp. Faced with the possibility of his exit, Unai Emery dropped him from the squad in Aston Villa’s defeat to Crystal Palace.

Martínez then travelled to join the Argentina squad for the international break. Their manager, Lionel Scaloni, said he wants to see the stopper play for Aston Villa, but the final decision is in Emery’s hands.

The former Arsenal man will return to Villa Park and TyC Sports report his future there still needs to be clarified.

After a failed move to Manchester United, he received offers from Galatasaray and several unnamed Saudi clubs, where the transfer windows are still open.

TyC Sports say that despite being offered a high salary, the South American isn’t keen on moving to a less competitive league and wants to stay in the Premier League. This is because Martínez wants to be well prepared for the World Cup next summer.

It’s to be noted that Galatasaray have signed Uğurcan Çakır from Trabzonspor earlier this month.
