David de Gea and a number of Manchester United players have reacted to Christian Eriksen's move to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.

The midfielder left United on a free transfer in the summer after his contract expired at Old Trafford.

Eriksen joined Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans in leaving Ruben Amorim's side upon the conclusion of the 2025/26 season. The Denmark international played 107 times for United after his 2022 arrival under Erik ten Hag.

On Wednesday, Eriksen's next club was announced with Wolfsburg snapping the free agent up. The 33-year-old was linked with a move to Hollywood-owned Wrexham before training at Swedish club Malmo.

"VfL Wolfsburg is my first club in the Bundesliga – I’m really looking forward to this new adventure," Eriksen said. "I’m convinced we can achieve something together at Wolfsburg. The talks with the club bosses went very well.

"I immediately sensed that Paul Simonis has a clear vision for the team and for me personally. The fact that there are several familiar faces in the squad from the Danish national team makes VfL a particularly attractive proposition for me."

Following the move to Germany, a number of Eriksen's former teammates have reacted to the signing. Wolfsburg and Eriksen posted a short video on their respective Instagram pages with the caption: "Never late to the party."

De Gea, who left United in 2023, joined Bruno Fernandes, Joshua Zirkzee, Tyrell Malacia, Lindelof and Edwin van der Sar in liking the post on social media.

Eriksen played a big part in winning the EFL Cup and FA Cup alongside Fernandes and Lindelof during his time at Old Trafford.
