“Reliant” | ExWHUEmployee | Fullkrug injury muted ahead of Spurs

**West Ham are expected to be without Niclas Fullkrug this weekend due to injury, with ExWHUEmployee sharing his views on the situation.**

It was reported last week that the German international had sustained a suspected calf strain, which saw the striker return back to the club to work on his recovery.

Understandably, there is concern amongst many considering Fulkrugs injury issues last season, especially with the news of the latest issue falling soon after the closure of the summer transfer window.

Discussing the situation with Dave Walker on The West Ham Way Podcast, club insider Ex advised the latest, with the club hoping the situation isn’t too bad.

“We understand from the very small details we have so far, that is a calf strain,” stated Ex. “However, no official diagnosis has been released to us, so its not easy to talk about return dates at this stage.

“It’s very West Ham and so predictable, with the club opting not to bring in a younger and non-injury prone striker this summer. We are now reliant on Calum Wilson and Calum Marshall – although Jarrod Bowen too can operate in the position.

“There is hope that the injury isn’t too serious. But of course we must await the official diagnosis.”
