“It comes from the PlayStation” – Leeds United player on what helped summer transfer decision

Isaac Schmidt has revealed that playing PlayStation when he was younger helped him make the decision to move from Leeds United to Werder Bremen this summer.

[BILD](https://www.bild.de/) have comments from the Leeds defender today after he joined Bremen on loan in the summer transfer window.

He had only been at Leeds since arriving in a €2.97m deal from FC St. Gallen last summer but only made 14 appearances totalling 251 minutes under Daniel Farke last season.

He spent most of the campaign sat on the bench or out of the squad entirely, with Jayden Bogle the preferred option. Leeds have also added James Justin to their ranks this summer from Leicester.

He arrived shortly before Schmidt was allowed to depart, a clear indication that the 25-year-old Switzerland international was not a part of Leeds plans for life back in the Premier League.

He’s instead spending the season in the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen, joining them on loan for the year in a deal that includes an option for them to make it permanent.

The defender is more than happy with the move as he knows the club well, courtesy of the PlayStation.

“I was already in contact with Werder last year but decided on Leeds because it was a lifelong dream to play in England,” he said.

“It’s funny. It comes from the PlayStation. When I was 12 or 13, I played with a friend, and he always supported Werder because of Arnautovic and a Turkish player. We always supported Werder.”
