Marco Bizot is loving life at Aston Villa, but admits it’s “too early” to say if he will be at the club beyond a couple of seasons.

Bizot moved to Villa Park from Brest on a two-year deal this summer and has started two of their opening three matches in the new Premier League season.

He will be 36 when his contract with Villa expires and, speaking to Voetbal Primeur, he said: "I'm going to do the best I can these two years and have as much fun as possible.

“After those two years, we'll assess our situation - what's possible, do we still want to continue, or will we make a different choice?

“It's still too early to say. We'll have to find out in a year and eight months, in May 2027.”

“For Brest, it just wasn't an option to let me go to a domestic rival,” he added, reflecting on his summer transfer. “That's why that option was ruled out.

“I didn't want to go to countries other than France and England, so there weren't many options left in that regard.

"But Aston Villa was enthusiastic and clear. The people who work there, like sporting director Monchi, the absolute top of football is active here.

“It's fantastic, of course, when you have people like that who want to play for the club."
