The first week of the 2025 NFL regular season is in the books. I had twelve correct picks last week and four that were wrong. 75-percent accuracy isn’t a bad way to start the year—especially with how many close games there were. Let’s see if I can continue that success for week 2.
Hart’s Week 2 NFL Picks
Thursday Night Football — Washington Commanders at Green Bay Packers
Winner: Commanders
Thursday Night Football this week features two teams who won their season openers in the Commanders and Packers. Jayden Daniels going head-to-head with Jordan Love should be a terrific game for football fans to enjoy. I’ll take Washington on the road here.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — Buffalo Bills at New York Jets
Winner: Bills
The Bills were able to make a miraculous comeback on Sunday Night Football to secure the dub last week against the Baltimore Ravens. This weekend’s matchup should be a little easier for them. I’ll take the Bills in this AFC East rivalry game.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions
Winner: Lions
Neither the Bears or Lions looked fired up and ready to go last weekend. One of these NFC North teams will be 0-2 by Sunday afternoon. My guess is that will be the Bears, unless Caleb Williams is able to start playing good football.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens
Winner: Ravens
I can’t see any way the Ravens wind up losing to the Browns after what happened against the Bills on Sunday Night Football. I’ll take Balitmore in this AFC North rivalry.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — Jacksonville Jaguars at Cincinatti Bengals
Winner: Bengals
The Rams were able to edge out the Texans last Sunday while the Titans fell short to the Broncos in a hard-fought game. Both offenses struggled, but I’m optimistic Matthew Stafford and the Rams will get it together and move to 2-0 on the season.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — Los Angeles Rams at the Tennessee Titans
Winner: Rams
The Rams were able to edge out the Texans last Sunday while the Titans fell short to the Broncos in a hard-fought game. Both offenses struggled, but I’m optimistic Matthew Stafford and the Rams will get it together and move to 2-0 on the season.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins
Winner: Patriots
This AFC East matchup will determine which of them falls to 0-2 to start the year. The Patriots struggled against the Raiders, but the Dolphins looked absolutely terrible in Week 1. I’m not sure what to make of them this season. And for that, I’ll take New England on the road.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys
Winner: Cowboys
Russell Wilson was absolutely awful in his debut with the Giants. The Cowboys played the Eagles quite tough despite the loss. I expect them to handle the Giants at home to get their first win of the 2025 season.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — Seattle Seahawks at Pittsburgh Steelers
Winner: Steelers
Aaron Rodgers was efficient and played with poise notching four touchdown passes in his debut donning the black and gold. Sam Darnold and the Seahawks struggled to get their offense going against the 49ers and lost.
Sunday Football (Early Game) — San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints
Winner: 49ers
The Saints had Spencer Rattler throw the ball 46 times against the Cardinals last week. I don’t think that is a recipe for success. I believe he will continue to struggle going up against the 49ers defense on Sunday.
Sunday Football (Late Game) — Carolina Panthers at Arizona Cardinals
Winner: Cardinals
Bryce Young struggled immensely and put together one of the worst quarterback performances in Week 1. If the Panthers want to have any shot at winning in Arizona, he will have to do much better. But I think the home team Cardinals will come away with a victory regardless.
Sunday Football (Late Game) — Denver Broncos at Indianapolis Colts
Winner: Broncos
Daniel Jones and the Colts surprised with an impressive victory against the Dolphins last week. The Broncos defeated the Titans thanks to an incredible defensive performance. Denver’s offense will have to improve to give them a shot at defeating the Colts on the road, but I think that happens.
Sunday Football (Late Game) — Philadelphia Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs
Winner: Eagles
A rematch of last year’s Super Bowl. The Chiefs wound up losing to the Chargers. If they aren’t able to take care of business at home against the Eagles, they will start the season 0-2. When was the last time that happened? I’m not sure, but that’s what I’m hoping for.
Sunday Night Football — Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings
Winner: Vikings
J.J. McCarthy struggled to hit his stride early on in the first half of his NFL debut, but wound up getting a few touchdowns through the air and on the ground when it mattered most. I expect him to continue to get better and believe the Vikings will take care of business against Atlanta at home.
Monday Night Football — Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Houston Texans
Winner: Buccaneers
The Buccaneers squeaked out a week one victory and the Texans offense struggled immensely and only put up 9 points against the Rams. This is a big game for Houston at home and they can’t afford to start off the season 0-2 in a competitive AFC. Nevertheless, I’ve got Tampa Bay winning on the road in this one.
Monday Night Football — Los Angeles Chargers at Las Vegas Raiders
Winner: Chargers
The Chargers were able to handle the Chiefs last weekend and the Raiders took down the Patriots. One of these AFC West teams will start the season 2-0. I think that will be the Chargers, who looked tough and formidable.
