Official visit primer: Four-star Arizona wing Cameron Holmes visiting Illini

Illinois basketball will host four-star small forward Cameron Holmes for an official visit this weekend. 247Sports ranks Holmes as the No. 30 overall prospect in the Class of 2026 and the No. 13 small forward in the country.

The 6-foot-6, 195-pound wing from Millennium High School in Goodyear (Ariz.) included Illinois among his six finalists last month. 247 Sports's Dushawn London reported that Holmes has scheduled visits to all six, with Illinois being the first, beginning on Friday. Holmes also plans to visit North Carolina on Sep. 19, Oklahoma on Oct. 3, Texas on Oct. 31, Gonzaga on Nov. 7, and Arizona on Dec. 5.

Holmes is the younger brother of DaRon Holmes, who was selected 22nd overall in the 2024 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets. DaRon was named a Second Team All-American as a junior at Dayton, averaging 20.4 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.1 blocks.
