Right after that, the tribute post has become a digital battleground where faith, politics, and grief collide in the most American way possible.

But it’s the comment section that’s telling the real story. NFL fans, political junkies, and random internet strangers are all weighing in on the final conversations between the conservative activist and the Super Bowl champion.
The message was around one year old because it was sent in October 2024. Some fans couldn’t ignore the awkward timing of their text exchange, with one writing, “He left you on read and now he’s dead.” Another took a different angle, penning, “Sounds like you guys communicated a lot…..”
Other users, like scripture scholars, turned the moment into a theological discussion. One fanclaimed, “A person who prays but does not take action to bring about the desired outcome is unlikely to achieve their goal. James 2:14-26 Faith Without Works Is Dead.”
Folks also expressed appreciation for Butker, who lives by his faith both on and off the field. “THANK YOU FOR BEING A VOICE OF JESUS IN SPORTS,” one supporterwrote. Anotheradded, “Your a class act Harrison. I cant think of anything except for Charlie and his family right now. Charlie and his family is in my prayers.”
Some reacted emotionally and drew on their spiritual beliefs to cope. “It’s a very hard time to not have hate in my heart ! But we can never lose faith ! Jesus is KING !” one userremarked.
Following his shocking death in Utah, Turning Point USA released a detailed statement confirming their founder’s murder during what should have been a routine campus visit.
