‘Definitely out’ – Leeds United hit with troubling injury news before Fulham clash

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has provided the team news ahead of his side’s trip to London to take on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday. The manager has had a few injury headaches this week, but there is more clarity ahead of the big game.

The Whites have made a solid start to the season with four points from their opening three Premier League games, and are now being backed to finish above the relegation zone at the end of the campaign in May.

Leeds are looking forward to getting a chance to change the narrative around the club following their deadline day transfer disaster, and have a perfect opportunity to do so on the pitch when they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage this weekend.

However, Leeds have been sweating over the fitness of a few key players ahead of their away trip to London, and Farke has now provided more clarity on the make-up of his squad ahead of the weekend.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke clarifies injury issues ahead of the Fulham trip

Farke has revealed some troubling injury news, with Lucas Perri ruled out for the next two games at least due to a muscle injury he picked up this week.

The Leeds manager also added that Lukas Nmecha and Joel Piroe are doubtful for the game after picking up knocks during training.

However, he added that Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka have been back in training, and a final decision will be taken on their involvement against Fulham in the next 48 hours.

“Mixed news and some ongoing topics”, Farke said in a press conference.

“Lucas Perri is definitely out, and he has a muscle train. He will definitely miss the next two games.

“Few question marks over Lukas Nmecha and Joel Piroe.

“Ampadu and Tanaka are back in team training, but we have another 48 hours to make a late decision.”

Farke has selection headaches

Perri’s injury has pushed Farke into making a decision on picking a new keeper, and, certainly, he doesn’t trust either Karl Darlow or Illan Meslier.

Ampadu and Tanaka’s return to fitness is a good news, and Sean Longstaff’s performance against Newcastle means the manager could ease at least one of them back in.

Howver, if both Nmecha and Piroe are not ready to start, Farke could be forced to start Dominic Calvert-Lewin in a Premier League game earlier than he would have liked.
