Ange Postecoglou provides injury update on Ola Aina ahead of Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal

Ange Postecoglou had his first Nottingham Forest press conference this afternoon.

Ahead of Nottingham Forest’s trip to Arsenal this weekend, Ange Postecoglou has been speaking to the media.

The Australian head coach has been in post for a couple of days after Evangelos Marinakis and his chiefs decided to sack Nuno Espirito Santo.

Postecoglou has already been working on Forest’s press in training, so there’s set to be a big stylistic change moving forward.

He was asked about Ola Aina in the presser and gave an update on his fitness after he was forced off in the first half of Nigeria’s game.

Ange Postecoglou provides injury update on Ola Aina

Aina had to come off after 10 minutes in Nigeria’s game against South Africa on Tuesday, and Postecoglou provided an update on his situation in today’s press conference

“I think we’ve got a clean bill of health, apart from Aina,” the Forest boss explained. “We will get some information on him this afternoon after some scans.”

So, that seems to rule Aina out for Saturday’s game, though, there’s been no word on whether he’ll miss any more games.

That means Nicolo Savona is set to make his debut for Nottingham Forest after joining in a £13m deal from Juventus last month.

Nicolo Savona set to live his ‘dream’

Premier League debuts don’t get much bigger than playing against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, so Savona is being thrown straight into a pretty challenging game.

The Italy international admitted it’s a ‘dream’ to play in England in his first interview after signing in August.

“For me this is a huge experience, both on a personal level and as a football player. It’s also the first time I have moved away from my family and friends,” the 22-year-old explained.

“I’m going to be playing in a competition that is one of, if not, the most important championship in the world. I’m very excited and energised at the same time.

“Everyone has a dream to play in the Premier League, and this was my dream too.”

Savona has made 40 senior appearances for Juventus, so he will be well-equipped to handle the occasion.
