Bruno Fernandes is once again attracting fierce transfer interest and the Man Utd and Portugal midfielder could be targeted again

Bruno Fernandes remained at Old Trafford for the 2025-26 Premier League campaign after being linked with a potential Manchester United exit in the summer.

Al Hilal were heavily linked with Bruno Fernandes and the 31-year-old United captain made the decision to turn down a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League club.

According to CaughtOffside, the ‘situation’ around Fernandes could ‘soon change’ and the Portugal midfielder could be ‘one to watch’ in January 2026 and beyond.

It has been claimed that United do not want to sell Fernandes amid his influence and impact at Old Trafford, but the Red Devils are aware of his age and value.

CaughtOffside has reported that United know that ‘time is ticking’ over the opportunity to secure ‘serious money’ for Fernandes before his value diminishes.

Fernandes has been linked with ‘suitors’ from around the world, with clubs in the MLS, Europe and the Saudi Pro League ‘monitoring his situation’ at United.

Bruno Fernandes had two Saudi Pro League clubs pursuing him amid Al Hilal’s transfer interest in the Man Utd and Portugal star

CaughtOffside has suggested that both Al Ittihad and Al Nassr had ‘made attempts’ to sign Al Hilal-linked Bruno Fernandes from United over the ‘last few months.’

The outlet has added that United and Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo had even made ‘direct contact’ with the former Sporting CP midfielder amid Al Nassr’s interest.

“Bruno was approached directly by Cristiano Ronaldo during the summer, with an invitation to join Al-Nassr,” an unnamed source told the publication.

“Manager Jorge Jesus also made two separate attempts to bring him in, but Fernandes turned down all offers.”

Fernandes’ current contract with United will expire in 2027 and the Portugal international still has ‘strong transfer interest’ surrounding him amid the new season.

It has been claimed that Fernandes ‘made it clear’ that he wanted to remain at United, despite Al Nassr’s interest and the contact from Cristiano Ronaldo.
