Jadon Sancho has been told to forget his critics as he aims to kickstart his career at Aston Villa.

Sancho has moved to Villa Park on loan for the season from Manchester United and could make his debut for Unai Emery’s side against Everton when the Premier League resumes this weekend.

Sancho’s career has stalled since he moved to Old Trafford, with Villa being his third loan move from the Red Devils, following spells at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea.

“I think Jadon Sancho, everyone says he's got something to prove, but he's just got to go out there and show,” said Emile Heskey, speaking to AceOdds.

“As long as he can just go out there, enjoy his football and show his ability, you've got a good player there.

"If he comes onto the pitch and goes 'I've got to do this, I've got to do that, I've got to show that you were wrong', then that's an issue.

“It's got nothing to do with anyone else and what they think. Just show me that you're capable of taking a player on, that I've seen before.

“Show me that you can get to the back post and score goals, show me that you can assist and show me that you're capable of chasing back. Don't worry about anyone else, worry about that.

"I'll be happy and Villa fans will get behind you and they're great when they get behind you.”
