Liverpool Handed Major Injury Boost As Star Issues Positive 7 Word Update On Social Media

Liverpool fullback Jeremie Frimpong has confirmed he is back in full training following a hamstring injury.

The Netherlands international picked up the problem during the opening day win against Bournemouth and he has spent the last few weeks on the sidelines. However, writing on his X account, Frimpong revealed he is available for selection again:

“Back out there. Feels good, sooo good.”

Frimpong had missed the fixtures against Newcastle and Arsenal, with Dominik Szoboszlai having provided able cover in his absence.

Liverpool’s fixtures between now and the next international break

The Reds play 7 games before the break for internationals in October. Arne Slot’s side take on Burnley at Turf Moor this weekend before hosting Atletico Madrid in the Champions League at Anfield next Wednesday.

There is a very short turnaround before the Merseyside derby the following Saturday, prior to fixtures against Southampton (in the Carabao Cup), Crystal Palace, Galatasaray and Chelsea.

Latest Liverpool injury news

In addition to Frimpong, the Reds had fitness doubts over several other players heading into the international break. Ibrahima Konate suffered cramp against Arsenal, along with Florian Wirtz. Both had to be substituted during the 1-0 victory last month.

However, the pair had no issues playing for their countries. Konate was given the full 90 minutes in two World Cup qualifiers for France against Ukraine and Iceland, so his fitness is not in doubt.

Wirtz, meanwhile, also started for Germany in two fixtures versus Slovakia and Northern Ireland. The 22-year-old got on the scoresheet in the latter game, which should boost his confidence.

New signing Alexander Isak is also short of game time, so the chances of him starting against Burnley are very low. It’s expected that Slot will select Hugo Ekitike in his eleven with Isak getting some minutes off the bench.
